The kids and I have had finally had the dreaded tummy bug!! I felt horrible all day Wednesday but just kept plugging along as usual. Then after a nice dinner and a family movie, Lainie got sick just before bed. She continued to spit up every 15 minutes or so for a few hours, then I finally got her sleeping when Alex comes in her room (I was trying to sleep on the floor), he does not feel well...he gets sick so get him a bowl and set him up a make shift bed in the hall near the bathroom. He gets sick a few more times. Then of course, not to be left out, Nikolas started in too. Got him a little bed made on the other side of the bathroom and tried to get him back to sleep. It was, needless to say, a VERY long night!! At some points I would have 2 of them up sick at the same time. Now you are probably wondering where Kerry was... I was letting him sleep. He was not too happy with me this morning for not asking for help, but there was little he could have done and I felt it was better to let him sleep so he could help out today. We all slept in and took naps and I think we are on the mend. Nikolas started with a rash early this evening so he is dealing with that too but other wise everyone is feeling better and so far... Kerry has not gotten it!!
Hopefully tongiht will be less eventful for us all!!

Update on what we have been doing this month...
Last week was a busy one!! Kerry's parents came to visit last weekend and we had a great visit. They got to go watch Nikolas in action while he played soccer, we went to downtown Concord and walked around the shops and got ice cream (which the kids loved of course!) and then we just played outside for the rest of the day because it was a perfect beautiful North Carolina Blue Sky Day!!
Monday was Nikolas' Beach Blast at preschool. They had so much playing in the water. And to finish the morning off, an ice cream truck came and all the kids got to pick out some kind of frozen treat. That was such a highlight. I believe it was Nik's first time getting ice cream from an ice cream truck.
Tuesday Night was a big night for Alex, he became a Wolf Scout in a Crossing Over Ceremony at scouts. All the rising second grade boys continuing on with scouts, turned in their Tiger scarf for a Wolf scarf. He was so excited. They also got their faces painted before they got their new book and scarf and they all thought that was pretty cool. Alex is very excited about attending Boy Scout Day Camp for a week later this month.
Friday was a big Family Picnic for Nikolas' preschool at a local park. It was again, a beautiful morning and we all had fun. Lainie loved running around with all the older kids on the playground and playing in the sand. Nik just loved being with all his little classmates one last time. Next year a few of them will join him in the 5 day class but the rest will be in other classes. He will still see them on the playground I am sure but it just won't be the same. We were very forunate to make some great friends this year. His best buddy is Bryson and his Mom and I have become freinds too. We look forward to getting the boys together alot this summer.

New pictures on website...
I will try to update with our latest going on's tomorrow!! But in the meantime, I have added about 180 new pictures to our family website. Look under May-??? 2008. We have been busy with end of preschool activities, Alex's crossover ceremony for scouts, and just a lot of outside play!! There are also pictures from my trip to Myrtle Beach with Lainie a few weeks ago to visit my friend Leigh Ann!!

Mother's Day Events with the boys
Oh well, it was a week ago but you know, I try to keep up... Anyway, last Wednesday and Friday, the boys had Mother's Day Events to Honor thy Mother at their schools. I will start with Nikolas.
On Wednesday we had Muffins with Mom, it was cute!! His teacher had them make stepping stones with their handprints and some colorful stones. Kinda fitting because the name of his preschool is "Stepping Stones". They also made cards and sang us a song before we all dug into the muffins and danishs laid out before us. Nikolas discovered he LOVES mini cinnanmon buns! Here are a few pictures from his event.

Then on Friday I was invited to Alex's classroom. It was very hush hush for months. These kids had been practicing for a couple of months. They sang us Mom's 3 different songs, one using sign language. They were all pretty proud of themselves. A few kids had solo's and speaking parts which was very brave of them. Here are a few from his day. They made us coupons books, a cute little booklet answering questions such as "My Mom's favorite drink is....." And they gave us some flowers to plant. It was very sweet.

So much to tell....
Wow, it has only been a week since I last posted but so much as been going on around here. I am currently drowning under 300 or so digital pictures just from the last week to go thru and sort and save!! Having a digital camera is such a blessing but sometimes a curse when I get snap happy and take way too many. I will share a few here b/c it might be awhile before I have time to add them all the website!!
First we have some wonderful pictures of Lainie EATING angel hair noodles!! She has done it a few times. Kerry thinks I should give it to her every day but I am afraid if I do that she will get bored with them and stop so for now I offer it every couple of days and that is working well. At least she gets to practice chewing and swallowing!!
Then last Friday since Kerry was off and I had to make up a Gym Class, he went with us!! I was so glad he got to see her in action and see how much she enjoys it. We took the camera and got lots of great pictures of her going thru the class. I am sure I will laugh when I look back at these in a few years and remember her at this age. It was circus month, that is why she is dressed like a clown during treasure box play time. Here are a few good ones!! First we are stretching, then playtime then stations (she was in a tunnel):
Saturday Mornings are Soccer Mornings for now. Nik is playing in the Harrisburg Pee Wee Division. It is really just instructional at this age. They might play some little scrimmage type games againist other little teams towards the end of this session later this month. Next fall we will move him up into the 5/6 division. He won't be technically old enough but with have had 2 seasons of PeeWee they should let him. He is so cute running around out there.
Then on this past Sunday, Lainie and I hit the road for Myrtle Beach!!! I went down to visit one of my best friends, Leigh Ann. I have missed her so much and it was great to have time to just sit and talk and let the girls play. We took them down to the beach to play, we went to the aquarium, and we just had a great relaxing time. Lainie loved the ocean, I could not let go of her hand or else she was running straight for the water!! In August, when we make our annual family trip to the coast, she will be in heaven. She does not like the sand at first but quickly gets over it. Here a few pictures from our trip.
It is May and that means... the POOL is OPEN!! The boys went every day I was gone and now think they should get to go every day. The water is still too cold for me but they don't seem to mind. I have them enrolled in swimming lessons the first 2 weeks of June so we will see how much they have improved over last year. Alex's diving has really gotten better over last year so now we need to work on form and stamina so that he can swim the width of the pool without stopping. Lainie loves just standing on the steps and splashing!!
Oh and while I was gone, Kerry painted Alex's old room (we moved the boys into together in Nik's room) and got it all set up as a guest room. It looks great!! Here are a picture of his latest handy work.
